Grass and Perfume

Grass is one of the tonka geur important plants on earth. It provides a habitat for many creatures and, when it is not overgrazed, offers valuable erosion control. It also provides food for cattle and other farm animals. In fact, it is estimated that more than a quarter of our world’s cattle feed comes from grasses.

While most people understand that trees take carbon dioxide from the air to produce oxygen, many do not know that grasses do the same thing. The process is called photosynthesis and it allows all plants, including grasses, to make food from the Sun’s energy. This food is used to create the energy that plants need for growth and survival. It is then released back into the air, allowing us to breathe.

Demystifying Automotive: What You Need to Know

Grasse is a charming town in the hills west of Nice and north of Cannes. When I visited there in the midst of winter, it was quiet and the cobblestone streets were largely devoid of tourists. It is well worth a visit for its architecture, history and for exploring the perfumeries that are the town’s main industry.

There are many large and small perfumeries in town and free tours are available for those interested in learning more about the art, chemistry, and incredible cost of producing a single liter of rose essence. Many of the perfumers are artists in their own right and their olfactory skill can be seen in the scents they develop.
