About Camilo
Camilo Hayes is a renowned coastal protection expert who has dedicated his life to protecting the world’s coastlines from erosion and other environmental threats. Born in the Dominican Republic, Camilo moved to the United States at a young age and quickly developed an interest in marine science. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology from Florida State University and then went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Coastal Management from the University of Miami.
Throughout his career, Camilo has worked with numerous organizations dedicated to protecting our coasts, including The Nature Conservancy, The Ocean Conservancy, and The World Wildlife Fund. He has also served as an advisor for several government agencies such as NOAA and the US Coast Guard. His expertise has been sought out by many local governments around the world looking for ways to protect their shorelines from storms, rising sea levels, and other environmental hazards.
